Established in 1978 and fabulously located in the heart of 'Marylebone Village', West London College offers a great choice for students keen to build a career in the Arts, Fashion or Design sectors. We deliver the University of the Arts London Foundation (Level 4) programmes that prepare students for direct entry to some of the UK's very best arts universities, including London College of Fashion and Central St. Martins. With one year pre-university Diploma programmes in Fashion Design, Fashion Retail, Fine Arts and Interior Design, the College offers a broad choice of courses and specialisms, each offering a focused pathway into an exciting career. In addition, the College offers a range of 'taster' Summer programmes for students of all ages.
Programmes are very practical with the main emphasis being on creative work. Students are supported in small groups through their creative journey. All students have a dedicated studio space in which to gradually develop their sketchbooks and portfolios under the expert guidance of lecturers with considerable experience of teaching arts and fashion at London universities. Senior academic staff also assist students with their choice of specialist areas and their university application.
The qualifications awarded on successful completion of our Foundation Diplomas are widely accepted by universities for entry to a range of degrees and every year our students gain places at leading universities. In 2014/15 98% of those students who completed their Foundation Diploma course at WLC successfully passed and received their qualification. 76% of those students went on to gain admission to a UK university to study for an undergraduate degree. The remainder either went directly into work (7%) or decided to take a Gap Year.
