Heriot-Watt University

Heriot-Watt University was originally established as a school of science in1821 and is named after the famous engineer James Watt, who invented the steam engine. The University is authorised by Royal Charter and has developed a strong reputation in the fields of management, engineering and science. The campus is located in Edinburgh, Scotland and also houses the Edinburgh Business School(EBS), the part of the University responsible for postgraduate business programmes. Heriot-Watt University is currently ranked No.20 in theUK for business programmes.

West London College has offeredHeriot-Watt University business degree programmes since 1993and maintains strong administrative and academic links with theUniversity. Students studying onHeriot-Watt University programmes at West London College are also registered as students of theUniversity and are entitled to use the University's facilities.

West London College students have the option of attending the formal graduation ceremony to receive their degrees personally from the Vice Chancellor of Heriot-Watt University in Edinburgh.

Heriot-Watt University has been named as Scottish University of the Year 2011/12 in the Sunday Times University Guide. The Award was made on the basis of Heriot-Watt's innovation, teaching excellence and research and the employability of its graduates. Alastair McCall, Editor of The Sunday Times University Guide said: 'The University has a fine record for innovation and relevant research and its graduates are highly regarded throughout the world'.
