London is probably the best place in the world to train for a career in the international fashion industry.
London is one of the world's great fashion capitals. From the creativity of avant-garde designers like Vivienne Westwood, John Galliano, Alexander McQueen and Stella McCartney to the classic style of world famous fashion houses such as Burberry, Aquascutum and Jaeger, London has it all. Where better to study for a career in this highly creative and ever changing industry than London?
An ideal location
The WLC Fashion faculty has its own dedicated studios on two floors of our Hannah House building - just a short walk from the retail outlets of the big name designers in Bond Street and South Molton Street, and the famous fashion stores of Oxford Street and Regent Street.
Practical training
Fashion courses at West London College are very practical in their nature with the main emphasis being on creative work in the studios. The Foundation Diploma is taught entirely in the studios rather than conventional classrooms as students are supported in small groups through their creative journey. The degree programme has more academic content so there are some lectures but the emphasis is still on practical work in the studios. All students have space in the studios in which to exhibit their work as they gradually develop their sketchbooks and portfolios under the expert guidance of lecturers who have considerable experience of the fashion industry and of teaching fashion at London universities. Senior academic staff also assist students with their choice of specialist areas and their university application if required.

A top British university degree
Most students first join us for the Foundation Diploma in Fashion Design, and then progress to the two year bachelors degree in Fashion we offer in association with Heriot Watt University which is currently ranked No. 9 in the UK (Sunday Times University Guide 2013).
The qualification awarded on successful completion of our Foundation Diploma is widely accepted by universities for entry to fashion degrees and our students have gained places on degree programmes in fashion design, fashion jewellery, womenswear, menswear tailoring, fashion textiles, costume design, fashion styling and makeup at leading institutions such as the London College of Fashion, University of the Creative Arts Chelsea, Kingston University and Heriot Watt University's campuses in Edinburgh and Dubai.
