Flexible entry

Until quite recently, virtually all students entered the programme as beginners at first year level, but increasingly people are now applying with recognised qualifications in computing and can be given second or even final year entry. Generally, if an applicant has studied at a recognised institution in the UK or overseas and has passed externally assessed examinations they will be given credit for that period of study and they will be accepted either onto the second or final year of our degree programme. British qualifications that may be accepted for this purpose include NCC, ABE, IMIS and ACP. Partially completed degrees from recognised institutions may also be considered.

Where an applicant has studied computing before but has not achieved a qualification recognised by the College, first year entry will be offered, but with the proviso that the student will be tested on arrival and promoted to the second or final year of the degree if the academic staff feel that they will cope at the higher level.

Important notice

When applying for a Computer Science course it is vitally important that you give as much information as possible about your qualifications and work experience so that we can ensure that we offer you the correct level of entry.
