Combined ACP Certificate & Diploma

The ideal starting point for a career in software development

This course isgenerally regarded as the first year of a three year degree programme but in fact both the ACP Certificate and the ACP Diploma are qualifications in their own right, and can be used to provide the foundations of a successful career in the computer industry.

No previous experience is necessary for entry (although these days most students have some IT knowledge) as the syllabus introduces the core skills of computer programming and computer system analysis and design.

By the end the year students will be able to programme in QBasic and will have some knowledge of Java. They will be familiar with the fundamental concepts of computer system design, will have received instruction in the use of Microsoft Access and Excel, and will be able to create usable web pages using Hypertext Markup Language (HTML)
