Heriot-Watt University Bachelor's Degree in Accountancy (BA)

An intensive two year programme leading to a British university degree.

This degree programme is similar to the business administration and business & finance degrees but with a syllabus bias towards accountancy, taxation and auditing. It is suitable for anyone wishing to seek employment in an accounting enviroment, especially those who wish to train as chartered accountants via a combined employment and training contract with big accountancy firms. Successful completion of the degree also entitles the graduate to exemptions from certified accountancy exams such as those of ACCA and CIMA.

Please note: Because the early stages of the Business Administration, Business & Finance, and Accountancy degrees are identical in terms of syllabus it is easy to switch from one to the other at the end of the first semester, or even later. Experienced academic staff are on hand at the College to provide guidance with making such important decisions. Applicants should therefore not be concerned about making the wrong choice at the enrolment stage.
